Ruahine Kindergartens

"Nga mihi mahana kia koutou katoa.

The Ruahine Kindergarten Association provides an active and encouraging environment for continued professional development for their teachers.  Teachers have opportunities to be involved in continued and supported research opportunities through the Ruahine scholarship scheme.  This has been a successful venture for growing teachers both academically and professionally.  There is also consistent networking opportunities for teachers with their colleagues and the community.

In recent times they have employed a bi-cultural advisor – this highlights their commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and dedication for working towards and upholding the principles of educating and supporting Te Ao Mᾱori."

"I consider working in one of the Ruahine Kindergartens as an early childhood teacher would be an excellent career choice. Most new graduates know that finding an employer who will offer them support and guidance as they establish their teaching career and gain teacher registration is of primary importance, but finding an employer that will take a long term active interest in supporting their ongoing learning and development is the ideal.

Ruahine Kindergarten Association takes pride in their teachers, provides them with varied and interesting opportunities to learn and grow. They offer challenges, opportunities and incentives to its teaching teams to push the boundaries and provide exciting, interesting and effective learning opportunities for children. I have been honoured to work with RKA teachers as both a provider of professional learning and as a research colleague. I cannot recommend a teaching career with this forward looking association highly enough."
