About Phillipa

Hi I’m Phillipa. I live in Awapuni with my partner Simon and my son Theodore; Theo is due to start school in 2018.

I’m new to Home-Based childcare but I have a huge passion to work with children and develop their knowledge and skills to support them on their journey as they grow. I come from a large family of 7 children and I have 19 nieces and nephews; I love having a big role in supporting their upbringing. I am planning to study towards my ECE degree in the future to extend my own knowledge.

My philosophy is that children learn best through play and their interests. I have a range of resources to support your child’s development and extend their interests such as books, toys, crafts, puzzles and much more. And to develop their large gross motor skills outside I have a trampoline, playground with swings, a slide and a sandpit.

I offer children a safe, secure and a fun family environment where your child can develop and extend their skills and knowledge, and where children can be themselves and be encouraged to discover who they are. I walk everywhere, and can provide care Monday to Friday for all age groups, including before and after Kindergarten for children who attend Awapuni Kindergarten which is in walking distance from my home.

I look forward to your child being in my care, learning and become the best person they can be.
