Following a recent review on sustainability at Milson Kindergarten, parents have been sharing how their children are now educating them about recycling, reducing and composting. One family has even started a compost bin at home as a result.
The team at Milson Kindergarten decided to share some of their discoveries by holding a workshop for parents. The evening showcased some simple things families could incorporate at home, to make a difference to their impact on the environment.
This included making beeswax wrap, and reusable cotton sandwich and snack bags. Participants also went home with a goodie bag, containing a booklet about other things they could do at home, a reusable container, eco soap and a flyer from ‘Palmy Dirty 30’ highlighting free, nature based activities to do with their children.
The workshop was a great way to extend the kindergarten’s learning with their community.
