Using some of their Equity Funding, Pahiatua Kindergarten children, teachers and parent helpers boarded a bus and headed to Eketahuna for the North Wairarapa Schools Cultural Festival.
The festival provides a fantastic opportunity for the kindergarten to connect with schools and the wider community, covering Ballance, Woodville, Norsewood and surrounding districts. The festival also allows for the children to make links to their own cultures.
Entertained by hundreds of performers, the kindergarten enjoyed Scandinavian dancing, a choir, classical music, contemporary bands and kapa haka.
As the only ECE present, Pahiatua Kindergarten were given a special mention by the MC. They were highly visible thanks to each child wearing a new RKA hi-vis vest, which have been bought by the Association thanks to a Blue Skies grant.
The Cultural Festival is an annual event, and has proved so popular with Pahiatua Kindergarten that they are planning to participate on stage in 2016.
