The primary school's senior students did an amazing job with their planning which even included the ‘Queen' officially opening and closing the games.
Kindergarten children were split into groups and allocated a country to represent during the opening ceremony team marches and morning of competition.
Beginning with warm up stretches, the kindergarten children were then rotated through a series of games. The older children did a tremendous job supporting and encouraging their younger counterparts to have a go at everything. On hand was also great support from whānau, there to help and cheer.
The closing ceremony saw every child stand on the dais to receive a medal and certificate from Tim the Turbo and Hokowhitu School Principal, Lin Dixon.
The games provided the opportunity for children to learn what their bodies can do, the meaning of teamwork, perseverance, and pride as well as developing a sense of community.
Milverton Kindergarten are still buzzing about event and extend their appreciation to the Hokowhitu School students and teachers that made the morning possible.
